Former congressman Ron Paul has called on the government to “stay out” of bitcoin. Paul admitted he is not an expert on cryptocurrencies but believes there is already too much surveillance on traditional currencies and how they are used. He said the same could happen to crypto assets, ultimately hurting their growth. Paul added that blockchain technology “has a lot of future to it” and that the government should stay away from it as well. Paul’s son, Rand, accepted bitcoin for campaign donations during the last presidential election.
