I am a business agility consultant at Duke Energy. Duke is the largest power producer in North America. There is great interest within investor owned utilities in finding ways to grow their base electric load.
I have done some research and below are some sample pictures of the type of sites we have in the Carolinas that have power at the meter ready to go. Currently there is over 200 Megawatts of power in old industrial facilities that have been shuttered within 2 hours diving from Charlotte.
Power is 5 to 6 cents per KWh, but the lease for space can be as low as 2 dollars a year per square foot.
Would welcome a discussion on other locations and configurations like these.
